Wear footwear that that is stiff to protect your toes.
Tape your fractured toe to an adjacent toe to keep it protected.
Antibiotics may be required to counter any infections caused by skin tears sustained during the fracture.
Surgical procedures may be required to adjust and repair the toe bone if conservative treatment methods are not successful. This may require the use of pins to be placed in the fractured toe to help realign them.
The use of a specially made boots after surgery can be very helpful in promoting mobility while keeping the toe in a stabilized position. These boots can have stiff soles to prevent the fractured toe from bending and to keep unnecessary pressure off of them.
