Wondering how to pass some time and work off some nervous energy during quarantine? Today Dr. Joel Segalman, Dr. Stephen Lazaroff, and Dr. Brittany Ciaramello at Performance Foot & Ankle Specialists, LLC in New Haven County, and Fairfield County have some great DIY projects you can do. You can even get the children involved!
Paint: Painting any room using modern, stylish, or classic colors can immediately change the vibe of that room.
Yard/Landscape Clean Up: Picking up around the yard and even painting exterior doors and/or shutters will immediately boost your home’s curb appeal. Sweep your porches, clearing away any debris or cobwebs.
Decluttering: Declutter and then organize all closets, but you should also remove any unnecessary furniture from crowded rooms. It will make your rooms not only feel bigger, but it will feel great seeing your space in a whole new light.
Fix Small Items Around Your House: Take a moment to tighten up any creaky floorboards, replace or repair any doorknobs that aren’t functioning properly, apply lubricant to door hinges that squeak, replace light bulbs that have burned out or light fixtures that don't work right. Then tie up the loose ends on any other home improvement projects you've started working on but haven’t had the time to finish.
Deep Cleaning: When deep cleaning the surfaces of your home, pay special attention to the areas such as bathtub and shower enclosures are mildewed and no longer come clean. These areas may need to be re-caulked or grouted. Open the windows and air out the house when the weather permits and clean bedding and curtains. It will help with our current health scare and will provide the security of knowing your space and home is free from germs.
Take care of yourself and your home during self-isolation by investing some time in these DIY project suggestions from Dr. Joel Segalman, Dr. Stephen Lazaroff, and Dr. Brittany Ciaramello at Performance Foot & Ankle Specialists, LLC in New Haven County and Fairfield County.
